Workshop: Algorithmic Visualization // Soyun Park

The WORKSHOP #2 at Trixie will take place on the 27th & 28th of November 2021, and it’s going to be Algorithmic Visualization workshop with Soyun Park. πŸ’ž

Algorithmic Visualisation is a 2-day workshop led by multidisciplinary artist Soyun Park (KR/NL) to explore possibilities for visualisation using different algorithms and technologies. This workshop is based on the production of the film Wunderkammer 10.0.

Wunderkammer 10.0 (official premiere in 2022) is a 30-mins long sci-fi film made by Soyun Park, Inwoo Jung, and Yelim Ki. It is to reveal the problems inherent in the technology-driven society such as inequality on access to map data by monopolistic tech corporations. In this workshop, Soyun will introduce technologies and algorithms she used to create the visuals reflecting the film narrative.

This workshop is for artists, musicians and designers who like to expand their skill set for their creations and share with the community.

Focusing on eploring technologies and sharing with other participants, we aim to experiment, learn, and build a supportive network where we can freely discuss technology and creativity.
The workshop is supported by Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.

Soyun Park is a multidisciplinary artist and designer from South Korea, who is currently based in The Hague. Growing up in Seoul, South Korea, where technological development was rapidly being intertwined with daily life, she found the need to explore her own position in the digital realm. In her work, she explores how technology is affecting and changing human discourses from the individual level all the way to politics and communities. Her work takes the form of films, installations, and audiovisual performances that experiment with a variety of new media and technologies. She is also a founder of a community-based studio RGBdog.

The production of the film Wunderkammer 10.0 is kindly supported by Stimuleringsfonds.
